Welcome to the ZANG-LAB homepage.

The maintenance of genomic stability from generation to generation is central to all life. To achieve this, chromatin undergoes extensive structural changes resulting in a range of DNA-associated processes during mitosis, including DNA replication and repair, DNA transcription, and sister chromatids separation. Histone modification and kinetochore assembly are two key mechanisms for the dynamic regulation of chromatin structure. The goal of our lab is to explore the dynamic structure of chromatin and its epigenetic regulation mechanism during physiological and pathological processes. We currently use X-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM, biochemical and cellular biology methods to study the three-dimensional structure and function of proteins involved in histone modification and kinetochore assembly.

ZANG-LAB is part of the Department of Life Sciences and Medicine of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). The lab is situated in Room 219, the Life Sciences Building, West Campus, USTC.
